With the assistance of Ulster County Sheriff's Department, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested Joel Yaro, 53, of Ulster Park, charging him with grand larceny.

In late November, 2012, Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies investigated the theft of a vehicle from the Village of Hancock. The vehicle was recovered in the Town of Kortright later that day. Following the recovery of that vehicle, deputies investigated the theft of a different vehicle from the Town of Kortright. That vehicle was recovered by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies the following day. A subsequent investigation revealed that a vehicle, originally reported stolen in Ulster County, had been recovered by Deposit troopers at about the time of the vehicle being reported stolen from the Village of Hancock.

As a result of an investigation by state police, in early March, 2013 Yaro was arrested and charged in relation to the vehicle stolen in the Town of Hancock. Yaro was released on recognizance by the Town of Hancock Court upon arraignment on that charge.

Deputies arraigned Yaro in the Town of Hancock Court on the two grand larceny charges Wednesday morning and he was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail pending further court action.
