Tractor Trailer Collision with Minivan Kills Seven in Truxton

Seven people were killed after a tractor trailer collided with a minivan in the town of Truxton around 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office.

The truck, which was carrying crushed cars, became disconnected from the trailer. The trailer slammed into a minivan carrying 8 people, killing seven of them.

The lone survivor in the minivan was taken to Upstate Medical Center with undisclosed injuries. Police have not yet released the names of the victims.

Route 13 was closed while a crane was brought in to remove the trailer due to the weight of its payload.

The two people in the tractor trailer were not injured.
