The Better Business Bureau is asking the public to watch for fake emails saying that you are being summoned to appear in court.

The e-mails say "urgent," and give a time and date for appearance. The sender then asks you to open the attachment to find out details. The attachment is actually malware. To spot the scam, know that courts do not typically summon through email. If in doubt call the court, not the number given in the email.

Beware of other e-mail scams that are similar, telling victims they missed or are summoned to jury duty.
