The State Senate has passed 14 regulatory reform bills as part of an effort to eliminate thousands of expensive and unnecessary government regulations.

If signed into law, the bills would create a task force to review state rules, regulations and public authorities and recommend the unnecessary rules for elimination. State Senator Tom Libous announced the bills’ passage last week and said that excessive regulations along with high taxes have continued to be a major obstacle to job creation and growth.

This package would help create a more competitive business environment in the Southern Tier and all around the state.
