Two candidates for Chenango County Judge filed petitions Wednesday at the Chenango County Board of Elections.

Local attorney Diane DiSteffino filed petitions for the Democratic, Working Families and Independence party lines. She has been endorsed by the Democratic Party and Working Families Party of New York. If elected, DiSteffino will be the first woman and first democrat to be elected county judge.

Candidate Frank Revoir also filed petitions Wednesday for his run in the three-way race for county judge. Frank’s petition had about 2,000 signatures from republicans, conservatives and independence party. Only 700 signatures were required.

Revoir and Chenango County district attorney Joe McBride, both republicans, will be on the ballot in the September primary with the winner facing democrat Diane DiSteffino for the seat of retiring judge W. Howard Sullivan.

McBride has been endorsed by the Chenango County Republican Committee.
