One of the oldest working tugboats in the country will be in Little Falls this week to take part in the city’s 25th annual Canal Celebration.

The three-day event this weekend celebrates the rich heritage of Little Falls, the site of the first locks built in New York in 1792.

The 111-year-old tugboat, the Urger, launched in 1901, has served as the canal’s flagship and classroom since 1991. The boat will be open to the public this weekend in the Little Falls canal harbor.
