ONEONTA, N.Y. — Hundreds of alumni, parents and community members will visit SUNY Oneonta from Friday to Sunday for Homecoming & Family Weekend. Scheduled events range from fireworks to a 2.6-mile run/walk. Admission to many of the weekend’s events is free, and members of the community are invited to participate.

For the past month, SUNY Oneonta has been a part of the NCAA Division III Special Olympics Spotlight Poll in which users log on to the NCAA’s Special Olympics website and vote for the Special Olympics fundraising event they would like to win $500. The students at SUNY Oneonta created and ran Athletes vs. Greek Life Olympics, held on April 21. They hope to win the spotlight poll to continue to grow

A SUNY Oneonta project to develop new ways of teaching college physiology has received funding from the National Science Foundation. The NSF’s Transforming Undergraduate Education in STEM Program awarded a $194,000 grant to the Research Foundation of the State University of New York on behalf of SUNY Oneonta in support of “Revolution In Physiology Education: RIPE for Change.”
