State senator James Seward joined Governor Andrew Cuomo yesterday in announcing immediate steps to cut government red tape to help New York dairy farmers capitalize on the growing Greek yogurt market.

The governor has lifted some of the concentrated animal feeding operations regulations, a required permit for any farm with over 200 cows. That regulation will now go up to 300 cows.

Cuomo has also directed the state Power Authority to develop a plan to take farm waste and create electricity.
