Rod Taylor, Star of “The Birds” and 50 Other Movies, Dies at 84

Rod Taylor, a sturdy reliable feature performer in more than 50 movies, died at his California home on Thursday at the age of 84.  Among his many movies was the Alfred Hitchcock classic "The Birds", co-starring with Tippi Hedren.

His first leading role was in 1960s "The Time Machine."  he also appeared in more than 100 television episodes.
