Simple question...how much does a stamp cost?

You would be surprised how few people know the answer.  I asked it (rhetorically) on my show this morning.  The next thing you know I was polling everybody at the radio station about it.  The answers are surprising.  And kind of generational.  The older folks came close, the younger ones here acted as if they had never heard of a postage stamp.

As for me, I probably bought my first stamp in 1968 when it was six cents.  The confusion on a stamp price is not surprising, really.  Don't you just go to the counter and say "Give me a couple of stamps."  No matter what they cost?  The price of a stamp has gone up 11 times just since 2000.

In any case, here are the answers I got from my co-workers this morning.  To spare them total humiliation I will not reveal their last names.  Also, you should know that the only two that got t right are our General Manager and our Business Manager.  Figures!
