ONEONTA, N.Y. – SUNY Oneonta has set aside more than $600,000 to fund programs that will further enhance student learning.

At least one out of every three women worldwide has been beaten, forced into sex or otherwise abused in her lifetime by a partner, relative, friend, stranger, employer and/or colleague.

Feminist and animal rights advocate Carol Adams will be the keynote speaker at the 18th annual SUNY Oneonta undergraduate philosophy conference this Friday and Saturday in the college’s Morris Conference Center.

A SUNY Oneonta student died in his off-campus residence Thursday night. Mark Deroziere, 22 of Schoharie, was found unresponsive by another SUNY Oneonta student sometime after 9 p.m. at an East Street apartment.

SUNY Oneonta has received over a $600,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for “Critical Mass: Math and Science Scholars,” a scholarship program aimed at enabling students who would otherwise face significant barriers to graduate and enter careers or advanced degree programs in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines.
