The CEO of Respawn Entertainment opens up about reactions to Titanfall, its DLC, the series' future, hiring God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen and a new game.

In an interview with Game Informer, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella spoke about Titanfall's debut, the reaction to its DLC, hiring Stig Asmussen, running two different development teams and the studio's secret project. Now that Titanfall has released all of its season pass content, Zampella is happy about the positive reaction the game and its post release DLC received..

"We're obviously still selling so we are closing in on 8 million now. So for us, as an early launch on a limited platform we're pretty happy. I think the DLC has been pretty successful especially the last one - Frontier's Edge - has been very well received," Zampella said.

In terms of the PC version's digital exclusivity on EA Origin, Zampella claims that it's just too late to try and bring the game over to Steam. He mentions they shouldn't have made it Origin-exclusive, but it's just too much work to go back and do it this late after its debut, and Respawn is already focused on the future. While the game's season pass content is done, Respawn doesn't have anything planned, but isn't ruling anything out.

During the interview, Zampella mentioned a "next game," which Game Informer asked for him to elaborate on, noting the hiring of God of War 3 director Stig Asmusson. Unfortunately, he remained tight-lipped on the project, noting Respawn has nothing to announce at this time.

"There is a second team. Non-Titanfall related," Zampella said. With two teams, it would make sense that one would work on the next entry of Titanfall while another works on a new project.

"Respawn Entertainment does want to make more Titanfall."

While Titanfall was an Xbox-exclusive, Zampella hinted that future Respawn projects might head over to Sony's side of the console war and work with both next-gen platforms. Unfortunately, Zampella said not to expect anything major from Respawn at E3 2015.

"No, I don't think so [referring to unveiling a new Respawn project at E3 2015]. Next year will be a little quiet. We'll be heads down, back to work. Next year [we will be] figuring out what we're doing and really kind of honing in on what the next games will be."

Whether or not Respawn appears at the next E3, we can't wait to see where it takes us next.
