U.S. Senator Charles Schumer announced Monday that work to restore roads and bridges damaged by floods in late June and early July will be subsidized by a $5 million grant from the Federal Highway Administration. The emergency aid will go to 15 counties in New York including Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Broome.

However, so far state aid for flood recovery will not be coming to individuals in 7 counties, including Chenango, Delaware and Otsego. Governor Cuomo has allotted $16 million for the hardest hit counties in the Mohawk Valley.
