Broome County Man Charged With Felony DWI

State Police report that on March 1st they arrested seven people during a DWI sobriety checkpoint in the Village of Johnson City.

The most significant was the arrest of 23-year-old John J. Durgala. He was charged with felony aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law because he had a 3-week-old baby in the vehicle with him. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation (3 or more open suspensions), unlawful possession of marijuana, and other traffic violations.

He was ordered to appear in Johnson City Court.

Six others were charged following the sobriety checkpoint.
