SUV Fire in Laurens; Driver Safe

An SUV caught fire Thursday in Laurens. Police say it happened on Route 23 and the West Laurens Fire Department got the fire under the vehicle’s hood put out quickly. The driver escaped without any injuries. One lane was blocked while crews worked on the fire which is still under investigation. State Patrol troopers also responded to the scene.
