Senator James Seward visited the Otsego County Sheriff’s office on Thursday to present a proclamation commemorating Second Chance Month, an opportunity to increase public awareness about the challenges faced by individuals who have paid their debt to society and the programs available to help them with reintegration into the community. According to a press release, Senator Seward was joined by Jail Ministry of Otsego County Executive Director Ameen Aswad, Otsego County Sheriff Richard Devlin and Otsego County Director of Community Services Susan Matt. Seward said as long as inmates are on a path to become productive members of society they should be supported in any way possible.
