Preferred Mutual Reaches Out to Unadilla Valley Elementary Students For National Fire Prevention Week

In honor of National Fire Prevention Week, Preferred Mutual Insurance Company reached out to Unadilla Valley Elementary School in New Berlin to help celebrate this year's fire safety theme: Hear the Beep Where You Sleep. According to the National Fire Protection Association, approximately half of all residential fire deaths result from fires reported between 11p.m. and 7a.m. In addition to distributing lesson plans, activity sheets, and fire safety materials, the mutual insurance company also hosted a fire safety poster contest for students grades 1st thru 5th at Unadilla Valley Elementary School. Posters were then judged by a Preferred Mutual committee, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were awarded a cash prize and certificate. Winning posters will also be displayed at the New Berlin Fire Department.
