The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce is very proud to cosponsor with Destination Oneonta the 2016 Small Business Saturday promotion with American Express.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, small businesses account for most of the jobs in this country. They have provided 66 percent of all net new jobs since the 1970s. They represent 99.7 percent of all U.S. employers.

In Otsego County we foster economic growth in our community built on relationships, and there is a good chance that many people know small-business owners. They are our friends and neighbors. They are among the most generous supporters of civic groups, local charities, youth sports, schools, and virtually every other form of community activity.

On November 26, 2016 the Saturday after Thanksgiving, is Small Business Saturday. It’s intended to encourage Americans to support small business not just one day a year, but whenever they go shopping. In Otsego county our moto is “Think Local First”!

Please see participating businesses that signed up to be a part of Small Business Saturday and our selfie contest in honor of Small Business Saturday. We support all local small businesses and encourage Otsego County residents to think of these small businesses to keep your dollars local. Wising our Community a Happy Thanksgiving!
