Members of the Oneonta Police Department with assistance from the New York State Police arrested a 26 year old Otego man Wednesday for 2 counts of the class D felony 3rd degree burglary and 2 counts of the class A misdemeanor of Petit Larceny. Charles Howe was arrested following an investigation into a strong arm robbery at the Rite Aid store, 94 Chestnut St Oneonta. Howe entered the store shortly after opening and he allegedly grabbed money from the open cash drawer at the register after making a purchase. A store employee then followed Howe as he exited the store advising responding officers of his direction of flight. In the course of this investigation the Oneonta Police Detective Division linked Howe to a robbery at the Walgreens store, 99 Chestnut St. Oneonta on Tuesday in which he also grabbed cash from a register drawer.
