Oneonta Task Force Begins Work On Fire District

A task force comprised of fire commissioners of Oneonta and city officials got together for the first time yesterday to talk money and future contracts for fire protection in the Town of Oneonta Fire District. The task force comes after a State Supreme Court ruling that stipulated it be formed when the two sides couldn’t agree on a contract. The Task force is working to find a neutral party who can independently assess the Fire District’s needs, the contract provisions and the methodologies involved.
