Oneonta Man Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle

A 76 year old Oneonta man that was struck by a vehicle at about 10:18 a.m. Wednesday morning, died later in the day at Bassett Hospital. Police say that Daniel Heath was bumped by the vehicle causing him to fall and hit his head. The initial investigation revealed that Heath was in the crosswalk, proceeding west on the northern side of Main and Chestnut Streets’ intersection in Oneonta. The vehicle was traveling east on Main Street and had turned onto Chestnut St when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle, 34 year old Mark Fedorov of Maryland was issued a ticket for failure to yield right of way to pedestrian in crosswalk. The investigation is continuing.
