No Arrests Yet in Smithville Homicide

The investigation continues into the death of a 16-year-old Oxford Academy student last Friday. Police say 16-year-old Amelia Wakefield was found dead at her Smithville home but haven’t released any other details pending the results of an autopsy. No suspects have been identified so far. On Monday Oxford’s classes started an hour late to give students and teachers an opportunity to meet with counselors. The school made a crisis team available to those needing support.
