U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand announced that the Village of Milford Fire Department has been awarded a $120,000 grant to buy new air packs. According to a new release the funding comes from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters’ Grant Program. The self-contained breathing apparatus units will replace older gear which according to Schumer is necessary so firemen are well equipped and prepared to take on any emergency.
