Fatality In Deadly Cherry Valley House Fire

On February 13, 2017, at about 5:00 a.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs responded to an Otsego County 911 report of a structure fire at 8 Lancaster Street in the Town of Cherry Valley. The fire was extinguished by the Cherry Valley Fire Department. An investigation determined that Frank J. Menento, age 86, who resides there had died during the fire. The NYSP Forensic Identification Unit processing the scene.

State Fire Investigators are assisting with the investigation and a cause has not been determined yet.
