Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Family Farm Day (FFD) Planning Committee invite all farms interested in participating in FFD 2017 to attend a FFD Winter Meeting and Luncheon in respective counties on the following dates and times:

·         Otsego Farms - Thursday, March 16, 10 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch. CCE Education Center, 123 Lake Street, Cooperstown.

·         Schoharie Farms - Wednesday, March 22, 10 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch. CCE Extension Center, 173 South Grand Street, Cobleskill.

Serving this year as principal coordinators of participating farms are Jess Goblet, Hessian Hill Farm, in Schoharie County, and Lyn Weir, former market manager of the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, in Otsego County.

Pre-registration for the meetings and luncheon is required. In Otsego, call Lyn at 607.547.8886 or emaillyn@lynweir.com by Monday, March 13. In Schoharie, call Jess at 518.701.4964 or email ljgoblet@gmail.com by Monday, March 20. Please make every effort to attend.

Our goal is to have all farms signed up early (before planting season). The meeting agenda will include expectations of farm participants, agritourism tips, the new Farm Guide design, marketing and media strategies, including the new Trails to Tales interactive website (https://trailstotales.org/), visitor comments, lessons learned - all to keep FFD a ‘must-do’ event for visitors.

FFD is a collaborative event produced by Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties (CCE), Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce, Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, Schoharie County Tourism, Otsego County Tourism, Schoharie and Otsego County Farm Bureaus, Trails to Tales, and, of course, Schoharie and Otsego County farms.  Cornell Cooperative Extension is an employer and educator recognized for valuing AA/EEO, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities and provides equal program and employment opportunities.  Accommodations for persons with special needs may be requested by contacting Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties prior to the program.
