Dangerous Oneonta Intersection Getting Safety Upgrade

Motorists are advised to be alert Monday, February 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd for State Department of Transportation workers who may be in the Main and Chestnut Street intersection in Oneonta. Flag personnel will guide motorists through the intersection when workers are in the roadway. Sign and traffic signal work will be completed at this intersection. City of Oneonta Mayor Gary Herzig sent a letter to the DOT requesting the work after a car accidentally struck and killed 75 year old Daniel Heath of Oneonta in this intersection on Oct. 28th. All work will be performed weather permitting.
