Charles Schneider, who has been the Music Director of the Catskill Symphony Orchestra since 1973, will give his farewell concert with the symphony on Saturday April 28, 2018 at 7:30 pm at the SUNY Hunt Union.

Schneider has entertained local audiences with countless performances with our outstanding symphony over the yeas.  He has also be a reliable and able concert master behind the dozens of "rookies" who have vied for the "golden baton" during the symphony's annual gala fundraisers. Schneider has also won three prestigious ASCAP awards for his conducting and was a founding Musical Director of the Glimmerglass Opera.

Schneider has been a member of the music faculty of SUNY Oneonta, Hartwick College, Hamilton College, Colgate University and San Diego State University.  Over the years he has received numerous awards, including citations from the United State Congress and New York State Governor George Pataki.

We all wish Maestro Schneider a happy retirement.
