Chenango County Health officials are putting out an appeal to residents to remain diligent against the spread of the coronavirus.

In an online post, officials announced the County’s COVID-19 case numbers are starting to increase and appeal to residents to keep social distancing, wearing masks and practicing handwashing and disinfecting regimes.  

Chenango County reported 10 new cases since October 9 for a total of 277 as of Tuesday afternoon.  Broome County October 13 reported 52 new cases. 612 of the total cases were active. That’s four fewer active cases than reported the day earlier as Broome struggles to pull itself out of the state’s Yellow caution zone over the next 10 days.  Broome has a total of 2,438 cases to-date and 83 deaths.

Cortland County reported 20 new cases October 13 for a total of 484.  Delaware County was unchanged again at 135 with 8 deaths while Tioga October 13 reported 373 total cases, an increase of 15 from the last report on October 11. Tioga County has lost 27 residents to COVID-19.
