The Greater Oneonta Historical Society will host its fourth annual Cakewalk on Friday May 6th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m at the History Center, 183 Main Street. There will be a dozen cakewalks throughout the evening -- a dozen ways to win a cake (or gift certificate for a cake) donated by a local baker.  At this Fabulous Friday variation of the traditional cakewalk, participants purchase a ticket, then walk on numbered squares while a tune is played on the History Center's player piano, made by Oneonta's own G.B. Shearer piano company. When the music stops, everyone stops on a square. A number is drawn, and the person standing on the matching number wins the cake of their choice.
