UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital’s capital campaign is one step closer to its goal thanks to a commitment from Blueox Corporation.

Officials from the Oxford-based energy company presented a ceremonial check in the amount of $50,000 to campaign leaders on Monday.

“We are excited and proud to support this campaign and UHS Chenango Memorial,” said Julia Miller, Vice President of Business Growth & Development at Blueox.

“We are fortunate that the great people of our community have supported our business in a growing capacity over the past few years and this is one way we feel we can thank them in a unique way. We hope this donation on behalf of our customers will ensure sustainability of Chenango Memorial, because is a vital pillar of our community.”

The capital campaign, announced at the grand opening of the facility’s new Cardiology and Cardiac Rehabilitation Center earlier this month, will support construction of a new Emergency Room and Walk-In Center, as well as strategic investments in Diagnostic Imaging and infrastructure to support the growth of future services. The work is part of the first phase of the hospital’s Chenango Medical Neighborhood Plan, which will transform the delivery of care at UHS Chenango Memorial.

“These are investments that will improve the health of our community, and ensure the sustainability and vitality of our hospital for generations to come,” said NBT Bank Chairman Martin Dietrich, who has stepped forward to chair the campaign.

Dietrich thanked Blueox for its leadership, noting the company’s commitment is the first corporate gift to be announced in the public phase of the campaign.

“We are grateful for Blueox’s support of UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital and all they do for the greater Chenango community,” he said.
