Helping to keep small local businesses operating during these pandemic touch times can be and is for many, a challenge. First off, fighting to keep your doors open to the public knowing that your local business has done nothing wrong, it's only because of the pandemic, can be a hard pill to swallow.

And that's why I like to visit small businesses as often as possible to help them survive past the pandemic and hopefully for many years to come. In addition to that, there have been organizations who have also stepped up to help out.

Have you heard about the Barstool Fund? Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy created an online fundraiser with the purpose of assisting small business who have been dealing with financial issues due to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Fox News website, the Barstool Fund has raised over 20 million dollars through donations, and that has led to helping close to 100 businesses so far. The website cites that there have been over 156,000 donors, including celebrities' such as Kid Rock and Tom Brady.

One of the latest small businesses to receive help from the Barstool Fund is a skating rink in Oneonta, Interskate 88. Check out the call from the Insterskate Facebook page below.

This is a great story. A business built from the ground up by the family and passed on to the next generation to keep it going is the foundation of our country. And we give Kudos to those who have donated to funds like the Barstool Fund.
