For weeks we have been hearing rumors about the official Rockefeller Christmas Tree coming from Oneonta.  Most of those rumors center around a tree in the West End of Oneonta near the Oneonta Country Club and the NYSEG building.

We have now received a press release concerning this (no name has been officially revealed):

Rockefeller Center revealed today that the 2016 Christmas tree will come from Oneonta, New York. The Norway Spruce will be cut on Thursday, November 10 and arrive at Rockefeller Center on Saturday, November 12. After being wrapped with more than 50,000 multi-colored, energy efficient LED lights and crowned with a Swarovski star, the tree will be lit during the live broadcast “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” on Wednesday, November 30. The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be on display through Saturday, January 7, 2017
