Ten Chenango County farms will be sharing in over $1 million in New York State grants from round two of the Southern Tier Agricultural Industry Enhancement Program. Each farm receives up to $100,000 for projects to help increase farm production and profitability along with better protecting or enhancing natural resources

According to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office the program helps farmers and agribusinesses expand and improve their operations while promoting the responsible use and protection of the state’s natural resources. A total of $3.6 million has been awarded to 45 farms throughout the Southern Tier.
