Interim Attorney General Barbara Underwood can now remove the word “interim” from her title after the New York State Legislature made her appointment to replace Eric Schneiderman permanent on Tuesday. In a statement Underwood thanks the legislature for entrusting her with the privilege of service as the state’s 66th Attorney General, adding she pledges to serve the people of New York with honesty, integrity, and all of the skills acquired during decades of public service. Underwood will complete Schneiderman’s term which ends this year.
