Tuesday Fire Forces Evacuation at Sidney Schools

A fire in a pole barn Tuesday led to the evacuation of roughly 450 students from Sidney elementary and middle school to the high school gymnasium.
School officials say a tractor was destroyed and the barn suffered smoke damage as the cause of the fire may have been the tractors battery but the investigation is ongoing.
The fire was phoned in at 12:48 p.m. Officials followed the evacuation plan and the students were back in class at 1:10 p.m.
