Tall trucks cannot pass under low bridges. This seems like a simple truth, but once in a while some poor trucker decides to challenge it -- with predictable results.

The East Street Bridge in Westwood, Massachusetts, is one of those low bridges. Apparently police receive calls about a crash there once a month. Once a month! Come on, truckers, don't you guys share intel over your nifty CB radios? Or have movies and TV been lying to us all these years?

In case you were wondering why the bridge doesn't have a highly visible "Low Clearance" sign, well, it did -- that was until another truck smashed into it in June, demolishing the sign along with the vehicle:

We're beginning to wonder if the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, which operates the bridge, is actually making money off all these crashes.
