The Last of Us might be making the jump to next-gen on the PlayStation 4 by the end of this month, but some talented artists have decided to take it two steps back.

Some talented users of NeoGAF have created these amazing and authentic-looking downgrades to The Last of Us, Polygon reports. The picture above was created by NeoGAF user KyleFedora, while the others were done by plainr_. Just watch as Joel and Ellie are rendered in their 240p goodness. These screenshots, especially KyleFedora's, are very reminiscent to the art style of the first Silent Hill game, and we applaud them for their stellar work. Just watching Joel in all of his blocky glory brings us back to the days when you were able to play a game's soundtrack by putting a PS1 disc in a CD player (remember those?).

Plainr_ even added a retro-style title screen that pays tribute to the days of Crash Bandicoot, which is a great Naughty Dog reference.
