The Director of the New York State Division of Budget will deliver today a Powerpoint presentation regarding Gov. Andrew Cuomo's new "Tax Free NY" proposal for businesses that locate near SUNY campuses.

I was walking along one of the College Camp trails behind SUNY Oneonta this week and spotted a peculiar object that appeared completely out of place among the trees.

Hundreds of alumni, their families and friends of SUNY Oneonta will return to campus for Reunion Weekend 2013 this weekend. In addition to gatherings, events and athletic competitions, the college’s Alumni Association will present its annual awards in recognition of outstanding contributions to the college.

SUNY Oneonta senior Jami Haynes set off on a 4,200-mile, cross-country bike adventure Tuesday with the goal of raising awareness about the Harvest of Hope Foundation, an organization that provides emergency assistance to migrant workers and their families.

Two SUNY Oneonta projects are among 33 recipients of the 2013 Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) program, which funds campus innovations and initiatives that have the potential to be replicated throughout the SUNY system and benefit students and faculty worldwide.

The class of 2013 will be honored at SUNY Oneonta’s 124th commencement this Saturday. The college will offer two ceremonies in the Dewar Arena of the Alumni Field House, one at 10 a.m. and one at noon. A total of 1,618 students are expected to be awarded degrees.

SUNY Oneonta announced the appointment of Daniel Chambers to the position of University Police Chief.

Approximately 700 SUNY Oneonta students will get up early Saturday morning, roll up their sleeves and get to work.

The topic of global poverty will be examined in Oneonta on Wednesday night as The Global Poverty Project will give a multimedia presentation titled "1.4 Billion Reasons" at 7 p.m. in Lecture Hall 1 of the SUNY Oneonta's Instructional Resource Center.

ONEONTA, N.Y. — The SUNY Oneonta Secondary Education Department will present Awards for Exemplary Service to eight area educators during the 20th annual Celebration of Teaching Reception from 4-5 p.m. Thursday in the Craven Lounge of the college’s Morris Conference Center.
