But that's what happened to St. Louis Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter when surgeons removed one of his ribs in an attempt to alleviate pressure that was running up his pitching arm. Baseball’s most exclusive club welcomed its newest members, Barry Larkin and Ron Santo, yesterday at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s 2012 Induction Ceremony in Cooperstown.

Recently, comedians Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis were present at a Chicago Cubs home game, where they not only hilariously delivered the team’s introductions, but also tossed out some pitches.

It’s going to be a busy weekend in Cooperstown. Festivities all weekend long culminating in the 2012 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony bring baseball fans from across the country, filling Cooperstown quickly.

On Tuesday afternoon, 2012 Hall of Fame Inductee Barry Larkin participated in his final media conference call before journeying to Cooperstown.

The new Baseball Legends stamps will be unveiled at 10 a.m. on July 20 at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown.
