If you haven’t already, go check out your local farmers’ market. The Oneonta Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday in Muller Plaza on Main Street Plaza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join the community in finding the best local fruits, vegetables, meats, and many more locally produced foods and products.

There are countless reasons and benefits of supporting your local farmers’ market. The fruits and vegetables you purchase are at the peak of their ripeness. They are brought directly to you, as opposed to traveling hundreds of miles on trucks. The foods you take home from a farmers’ market are always seasonal. Cooking, and then eating seasonal foods expose their truest and most natural flavors. Plus, you can find foods you wouldn’t normally find at a grocery store. While buying meats and cheeses from a farmers’ market, you are also supporting the humane treatment of animals. Local animals are raised without the use of growth hormones and other unnatural chemicals. They maintain a grass-fed all natural diet and are free from harsh living conditions. Participating in your local farmers' market is also a great way to show support and to bring the community together.
