State Assembly Republicans continue to push for the removal of democratic Speaker of the House Sheldon Silver, whom they have accused of waging war on women.

Assembly members held a press conference Wednesday announcing their intentions.

They want the Albany County D.A. and the U.S. District Attorney to investigate Silver's actions and have him pay $103,000 back to taxpayers.. They say that Silver used that money in a secret settlement to pay off victims of sexual harassment by disgraced Assemblyman Vito Lopez, and had his office intentionally mislabel checks to help in the cover up.

Silver has admitted that mistakes were made, but maintains no crimes were committed.
