Here's to hoping these awesome looking Final Fantasy apps get released in the west.

All Games Beta reports that Square Enix is partnering with mobile app developer Alim to release three big Final Fantasy apps for Japanese smartphones and tablets this winter. Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius (pictured above) is going to take characters from previous Final Fantasy titles, put them in a new adventure and features new artwork by Yoshitaka Amano. It also has Square Enix's Kay Hirono producing it.

Final Fantasy Legends: Space-Time Crystal will also feature characters and settings from the previous eras of the series and features gameplay reminiscent of Final Fantasy VI. Most of you may not remember this, but Squaresoft released Final Fantasy Legend I and II for the original Game Boy more than 20 years ago, which makes it strange that they would use the name "Legends." Space-Time Crystal will focus on a main character named Tumoro who lives on an island in between the warring continents of Azima and Westa. One day, a mysterious girl from the future named Emo (we're not making this up) arrives and tells him that he must try to stop this war before the world gets destroyed in the process.

The Final Fantasy Portal app will feature feature up-to-date news about Square Enix's flagship series. In particular, it will focus on providing updates on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as well as the latest info on Final Fantasy XV. All you have to do is link your Square Enix ID so you can unlock exclusive digital content you can't get anywhere else. Lastly, the Portal app will feature its own version of the Triple Triad card game from Final Fantasy VIII. You'll be able to duel your friends via Bluetooth connections and can use the same cards in Final Fantasy XIV.

All three of these apps are going to be available in Japan this winter and are expected to be free-to-play, with different kinds of freemium content for each one.

We have a feeling the apps will feature these guys:
