Screen legend Mickey Rooney, whose entertainment career spanned an astounding nine decades, passed away yesterday at the age of 93.

He first appeared on stage in his parents' vaudeville act when he was just an infant.  He made his first movie before he was 10. He was still active in film and television as recently as two years ago.  Along the way he won two special Academy Awards, and was the nation's #1 box office star from 1939 to 1942.

The first of his eight wives was screen siren Ava Gardner.

Here is a clip of Rooney with his longtime friend Judy Garland.
