Sergio Garcia is notorious for two things: Choking in big situations, and speaking his mind at a press conference. The latter got him in some heat with the media and golf fans.

Just two weeks ago, he dunked two shots in the water on 17 at TPC Sawgrass during the Players Championship while tied for the lead with Tiger Woods.

He plopped another in the water on 18 for good measure.

When Garcia was in contention in the 2007 Open Championship, he was praying that he wouldn't choke while in the 18th fairway -- then he did by missing a four-footer to win the tournament. He ended up losing in a playoff to Padraig Harrington.

Now, Garcia has done the choking in front of a microphone. When asked in jest about the possibility of inviting Tiger Woods over for dinner, Garcia said: "We will have him round every night. We will serve fried chicken."

Of course, the media have latched onto this story, calling the comment racist. Garcia has since apologized and said that he never intended it to be racist in nature and that he replied to a question meant to be a joke with a "silly" answer.
