According to the latest poll from the Siena Research Institute, more than 52 percent of New York voters feel that Speaker Sheldon Silver should step down.

This comes after speculation that Speaker Silver failed the people of New York and former Assemblyman Vito Lopez’s accusers by not addressing the issue appropriately by not being completely honest.

Although the majority of voters favored passing all 10 points of Governor Cuomo’s Women’s Equality Act, the governor’s favorability rating is now at 58 percent, down from 64 percent last month, the lowest since becoming governor. The governor’s job performance rating is at 50 percent down from 52 percent in May.
