New York State Police identified 15-year-old Brandy L. Smith, of Bainbridge, as the second death in a two-vehicle crash at 1:42 a.m. Sunday morning in Oxford.
Police say Smith was driving a 2000 Ford Focus at the time of the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The car was owned by Travis Borne, 20, of Ninevah. He was a passenger in the Focus and taken to UHS Wilson Medical Center where he continues to recover from injuries.
The investigation revealed that Smith veered into oncoming traffic, striking head on a 2002 Dodge Caravan operated by David C. Clarke, 55 of Oxford, who died in the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash, according to a release from the New York State Police.
