Police Give Details on Buck Family Shooting Incident in Middlefield

The Otsego County Sheriff held a news conference Monday afternoon concerning the shooting in Middlefield over the weekend.

Richard Devlin said there were two individuals shot: one was shot once, one was shot multiple times.

Michael Buck sustained a gunshot injury to his right cheek in the shooting incident while his father, Joseph Buck, died early Saturday morning in the house they shared on Indian Run Rd.

Devlin said that two handguns were involved, but he did not release their make or caliber.

Michael Buck is accused of shooting his father and has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and first-degree criminal use of a firearm. He is being held in the Otsego County Correctional Facility and is scheduled to reappear in court on Monday.
