Plane Crash In Town of Milford

According to New York State Police, on July 6 at approximately 8:06pm, there was a plane crash in the area of South Martindale Road in the Town of Milford. The aircraft was piloted by Edward C. Schoene, 55 of Springfield Center, NY.

The Investigation revealed that the pilot had departed the Oneonta Municipal Airport and experienced engine trouble during his flight at which time Schoene landed the plane in a cornfield located off South Martindale Road.

Schoene was transported to Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown for injuries sustained in the crash. Milford Fire Department/EMS as well as the Otsego County Fire Coordinators responded and assisted at the scene.  The severity of Schoene's injuries are not known at this time.  This investigating is ongoing.
