An Oxford woman took a plea deal on charges she defrauded the Internal Revenue Service. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Lavyette Anna Louisa Garcia admitted preparing at least 110 false tax returns between 2011 and 2014, resulting in an intended loss to the United States of nearly $850,000. She also admitted filing two returns with false income and tax credits. Sentencing is set for July 17 and Louisa Garcia could be in jail for up to 8 years plus pay up to a $250,000 fine.
