Want more frights in night vision? Red Barrels is leaving the Mount Massive Asylum and is bringing the first-person scares back in Outlast 2.

In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Red Barrels co-founder Philippe Morin revealed that his 12-man development team is working on a sequel to the first-person horror title, Outlast, which launched on PlayStation 4 this past February and hit the Xbox One four months later.

"It’s important for us to be passionate about whatever we’re working on, because we believe it’s the only way to achieve quality. After shipping the XB1 version of Outlast, we took some time to analyze our situation and we quickly realized we had at least another horror game in us," Morin said. "So, yes, we are working on Outlast 2."

Unfortunately, Morin remained tight-lipped on the topic other than the fact that it will be in the same universe as its predecessor and that it will feature new characters and locations. He also did not disclose any type of launch window or target consoles for Outlast 2 to hit. Given that the first game hit PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we should expect the same systems to get the sequel.
